Dear Messengers:
Last Wednesday at MOA was awesome! A young gentleman approached 'Do you have two squares?' Our eyes locked then he shouted 'Chaplain Jason! I'm sorry but I really need your help!' I initially encountered Paul at the Minneapolis Jail last year. On 04/12/18 I wrote 'Paul divulged 'My mother abandoned me at birth. My father was forever in prison. My Auntie raised me but never loved me.' Paul was clearly emotionally delayed – a little boy who yearned to be loved by daddy. But Paul sought gangs, drugs and 'babes' to fill the void. I shared the full Gospel Message, emphasizing our Abba Daddy's love. Paul exclaimed 'My brother Mathew surrendered to Jesus Christ in prison. Now he is free and married and has a baby girl named Ruby.' I shared the Jesus Christ / life raft analogy then declared 'Paul, your brother accepted Jesus' hand to be saved but you are still drowning in the ocean of your sin!' BOOM! The Holy Spirit exploded upon us! Paul shrieked and dropped to the ground. We laid hands upon our brother as he cried out to Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. And Daddy.' But tonight Paul was imprisoned by alcohol and methamphetamine. As we prayed, another gentlemen approached. Paul interjected 'This is my friend Weezey' who interjected 'My real name is Dwayne. I'm enslaved by alcohol and meth. Please pray for me.' During our worship at the clinic we sang 'There is power in the name of Jesus. To break every chain. To break every chain. To break every chain.' [Break Every Chain by Will Reagan & United Pursuit] Please pray.
Acts 4:8-12 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: 'Rulers and elders of the people! If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed, then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is 'the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.' Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.'
Last Friday at the Minneapolis Jail was awesome! We shook hands but gasped as I stared deep into Brad's eyes – the windows to our soul. Black death stared back. Brad is an agnostic intellectual who made my puritanical partner Stan seem like a flower child. We read 'We may be stuck in a mode of bitterness over what someone else has done to us, continuing to hold on to the pain and refusing to forgive those who are responsible. But it's important for us to understand that holding on to that hurt and being unwilling to forgive the person who has injured us in the past only allows them to continue hurting us today.' [Excerpt from Tecarta Bible DOTD 09/19/18] We confronted our unforgiveness then I shared the full Gospel Message. Brad was visibly impacted but clung to philosophical Stoicism. Stan and I shared our personal testimonies then dismissed the men – except Brad. I prayed to be led by the Holy Spirit then shared the Jesus Christ / life raft analogy. Brad sat conflicted. I declared 'Jesus Christ stands before you but you choose eternal death in the water. Loose your millstones to embrace Jesus Christ.' BOOM! The Holy Spirit poured down upon us. Brad shouted 'I could tell by your eyes when we met' then dropped to the ground in surrender to Christ Jesus. Beloved, I stared deep into Brad's eyes. God's Presence stared back. In Christ, Jason.
Mt 6:22-23 The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Our children are dying. I need your help to share Christ with the lost.
Dt 24:16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.
