Dear Messengers:
Last Wednesday at MOA was awesome! I initially met Thomas Webster almost three years ago when a young heroin addict named Mackenzie surrendered her life to Christ at MOA. Our trio bonded at MN Adult & Teen Challenge during Family Visitation. Five weeks ago, we attended Tom's funeral. The song Wish You Were Here [Pink Floyd] played in eulogy has haunted me since. I felt Tom's death, relived my father's death and tasted my death. I wrestled with God whether to espouse this ballad during our worship and prayer at the clinic but ultimately acquiesced. I wept during our prayers. Another gentleman wept 'I know every word to that song. Nine years I abused drugs but Jesus Christ redeemed me from my brokenness.' Beloved, there is urgency in the hour. Whom must you tell?
Mt 24:37-41 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
Mt 25:10-13 But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. Later the others also came. 'Lord, Lord,' they said, 'open the door for us!' But he replied, 'Truly I tell you, I don't know you.' Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
Last Friday at the Minneapolis Jail was awesome! We encountered a gentleman named Terrance whose wrists were bandaged. He recounted Baptism in the Holy Spirit when twelve but substance abuse grieves the Holy Spirit within. He began heroin to quit cocaine but overdosed four times; alcohol drowned God's Presence. Terrance shared 'Four days ago I prayed 'God take me or deliver me' then slit my wrists. My eyes were instantly opened and the blood instantly dried. Jesus Christ saved my life. My testimony can save my brothers.' Dt 6:16 pierced my heart. I shared my personal testimony then expanded upon the Jesus Christ / life raft analogy to emphasize The Great Commission command to beckon our brothers unto Jesus' boat. Beloved, whom must you tell? In Christ, Jason.
Acts 9:17-18 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, 'Brother Saul, the Lord – Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here – has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.' Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he could see again.
Mt 4:5-7 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. If you are the Son of God, he said, throw yourself down. For it is written: 'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.' Jesus answered him, It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'
Rev 12:11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
Our children are dying. I need your help to share Christ with the lost.
Dt 24:16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.
