Dear Messengers:
Last Wednesday at MOA was awesome but is preempted to share about Paige. [05/24/17] I encountered Paige, a young, intoxicated, former heroin addict. I had to intervene to protect her from verbal assault by another homeless man. Paige is a Believer but extremely, extremely lost. Her daughter, Ella-Rose, will be three years old this Monday but presents are a pipe dream. After Paige accepted my invitation to Church this Sunday, I invited them to her daughter's birthday party at Edinborough Park. There will be presents. BOOM! As we prayed, the Holy Spirit exploded upon us. Paige asked whether she could hug me; tears soaked my shirt. Beloved, share Jesus with God's child today. Use words, if necessary.
[05/31/17] You may remember Paige, the young, blue-eyed heroin addict that I met last week. Tonight, her eyes were black and blue from the beatings while asleep on the light rail. We had planned Church and her daughter's third birthday party last Sunday. Beaten, homeless and barred from her daughter, Paige instead planned death by one-half gram pure heroin. But God had a plan. As we huddled together on the dirty pavement, I shared my testimony. BOOM! The Holy Spirit enveloped us; her eyes transfigured. Paige whispered that last year on Hennepin Ave, another girl offered her a loaf of bread – 'The Bread of Life' and told her about Jesus Christ. The floor was steeped in our tears. I led Paige upstairs to experience our corporate prayer. We prayed Truth and Love and Life into her very soul. Arianna and I then drove her home; her mother, Jodie, accepted her back. We shared Jesus Christ and spoke about Church, heroin and MN Adult & Teen Challenge. Please pray. Beloved, God speaks to us all. We choose whether to listen and obey.
[01/03/19] Jodie wrote 'Dear Jason: I just want you to know that Paige lost her struggle with addiction. She passed away this Sunday. Her funeral is Monday January 7th.' I have wept all morning. I loved Paige but Jesus loves her more. Please pray.
Ecc 3:1-8 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
Last Friday at the Minneapolis Jail was awesome! In Quad 9A, we dissected Paul and Silas in Prison then examined our personal response to trials. Robert remained reticent. I prayed to be led by the Holy Spirit then confessed my personal frailties – Stan elaborated. I shared the full Gospel Message then asked 'Robert, what would prevent you from surrendering your life to Jesus Christ right now?' Pregnant pause. He ultimately responded 'I am too horrible. God would never forgive me.' I quoted Rom 5:8 then we spoke Identity unto our brother. I shared the Jesus Christ / life raft analogy the repeated my query. Robert sat conflicted. I declared 'Jesus Christ stands before you but you choose eternal death in the water.' BOOM!
Later in Quad 8A, we reunited with a troubled heroin addict named by Jewish parents. Cain screamed 'I must wake DJ' then ran out. The two returned in tears. Last March, I quoted Gen 4:6-7 then the Holy Spirit crashed down upon us. Cain gasped; eyed instantly dilated. He screamed 'But I am still a sinner!' Cain was still enslaved. But not tonight. These men shared that Gabrielle [DJ's girlfriend] recently died from heroin overdose in Cain's arms. She died in a Church parking lot. We shared Truth and Love in precipitous balance – their anguish blurred only by our tears. Cain shouted 'God must have some purpose.' DJ's tears obscured a teardrop tattoo. He cried 'Some good must come from Gabrielle's death.' Gen 50:20 pierced my heart. I shared the full Gospel Message then quoted Jer 29:11-14. DJ shouted 'What must I do to be saved?' BOOM! The Holy Spirit thermonuclear exploded upon us. An hour apart, three men fell trembling to the ground to be saved by Jesus Christ. Amen! In Christ, Jason.
Gen 4:6-7 Then the Lord said to Cain, 'Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.'
Gen 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
Act 16:29-31 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' They replied, 'Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household.'
Our children are dying. I need your help to share Christ with the lost.
Dt 24:16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.
