Dear Messengers:
Last Wednesday at MOA was awesome! During our worship and prayer, The Parable of the Sower pierced my heart. At MOA, I encountered a homeless Anishinaabe gentleman named Shaun marked by a teardrop tattoo. 'Hi. My name is Jason and I am with a local Ministry here to pray with people. What can I pray with you about?' Shaun was instantly sobered. Eyes downcast, he shared about four children, quite distant. I shared about several children, quite distant. Shaun described Gitche Manitou; I revealed Jesus Christ. Isa 6:9-13 seared my soul. I shared Truth and Love then handed my brother the Father's Love Letter. Beloved, we plant and water seeds but God nurtures them. Please pray.
1 Cor 3:6-7 I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.
Last Friday at the Minneapolis Jail was awesome! We read 'Each one of us has a valuable story to tell. We may be shy and feel awkward about speaking. We may think that what we have to share is too trivial. Is it actually going to help anyone else? We may struggle to get beyond the shame of our past experiences. But our recovery story can help others who are trapped back where we were. Are we willing to allow God to use us to help free others?' [Excerpt from Tecarta Bible DOTD 01/09/19] I prayed to be led by the Holy Spirit who audibly shouted 'Marquis'. I shared the full Gospel Message, emphasizing absolute repentance. I then shared my personal testimony, emphasizing my absolute brokenness. I stared deep into my brother's Ojibwe eyes – the windows to our soul – then asked 'Marquis, what would prevent you from surrendering your life to Christ right now?' The angst was palpable but Marquis confessed 'Me. I embrace sin.' I shouted 'Satan comes only to steal and kill and destroy. Embrace Jesus.' BOOM! The Holy Spirit reigned down upon us. Marquis fell to the ground in surrender to Jesus Christ. 'I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.' In Christ, Jason.
Jn 10:9-10 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Our children are dying. I need your help to share Christ with the lost.
Dt 24:16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.
