Dear Messengers:

Last Wednesday at MOA was awesome!  I was reunited with my friend Zach, a homeless, alcoholic atheist who feels unworthy to be loved.  He was raised Catholic but rejected religion due to its hypocrisy.  Me too.  Zach wore dark sunglasses to mask the tears.  'My Aunt Lee was so good; she was only forty-two.  If God were real, why would He take her and not me?'  I prayed to speak Truth and Love in delicate balance.  I reiterated the full Gospel Message, emphasizing 'grace through faith not works' then shared the Jesus Christ / life raft analogy.  Zach shouted 'I know good atheists; good Muslims; good Jews.  My Aunt Lee was a good Christian but she said whatever I believed was fine.  Do you really believe that good people go to hell unless they believe in Jesus Christ?'  Truth and Love.  I responded 'Zach, you know that I love you but Jesus Christ loves you more.  In this moment, I truly want to comfort you as your friend but 'the wages of sin is death'.  Even good people go to hell unless we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior.'  BOOM!  The Holy Spirit poured down upon us.  Zach wept.  My brother opened The Life Book to read 'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.'  Please pray.

Eph 2:8-10 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God –not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jn 3:16-18 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

Last Friday at the Minneapolis Jail was awesome!  We untangled The Vine and the Branches.  Jermaine asked 'If I sleep around will I go to Hell?'  We critiqued the full Gospel Message but then unpacked our consequence to unrepentant sin.  Jermaine smiled – my brother desires to 'bear much fruit'.  In Christ, Jason.

Repentance is something that is significant to God.  It literally means to 'turn around.'  In other words, before you gave your life to God you were doing whatever you wanted to, you were going in the direction that you thought was best.  Now that God is revealing Himself to you, He is essentially saying, 'you didn't know any better but now you do – turn around and follow Me.'  Many people realize that God is real, say a prayer to surrender but keep going in the same direction they were going.  That won't accomplish anything.  Repentance is the process of being deliberate about turning around in many [perhaps all] areas of your life to bring them into alignment with God.  [Adapted from Firebase Movement]

Jn 15:5-6 I am the vine; you are the branches.  If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.  If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

Our children are dying. I need your help to share Christ with the lost.

Dt 24:16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.
