Dear Messengers:
Last Wednesday at MOA was awesome! My Spirit was grieved from spiritual warfare, MOA security guards – even burdened from my prayers 'to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke.' [Isa 58:6] Our entire group felt spiritual oppression but we remembered 'so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.' [Isa 55:11]
After our outreach, I picked up my daughter and her friend from our Church. Her friend expected 'just old, depressed white people' [I was two-thirds offended] but found Bethel's Rock Church to be fresh, vibrant and ethnically diverse. She shared the unconditional love and acceptance she felt when a boisterous Black woman named Mae had prayed with her upon arrival. I discerned the precise moment fifteen months ago when God declared our new Church home. That epiphany was punctuated by euphoric adoration – from a boisterous Black woman named Mae. During our drive home, we spoke about Jesus Christ then I invited Nikko to join our family at Church this Sunday. Beloved, sometimes our Divine Encounter is buckled in our back seat.
Isa 61:1-2 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn.
Last Friday at the Minneapolis Jail was awesome! We reunited with Jermaine. Externally, Jermaine is pockmarked with innumerable gang tattoos. Internally, I discerned only darkness. We revisited Forgiveness then read 'But I just don't think God would use me, with all the sins of my past, to begin this program at our church.' [Excerpt from Celebrate Recovery Bible] Jermaine interrupted our conversation. I repeated the full Gospel Message, emphasizing our redemption through Jesus Christ's death upon the cross. Jermaine taunted 'If God is so powerful, why make Jesus die? Couldn't God just make us obey Him?' I cried as A Snoodle's Tale [VeggieTales] pierced my heart. 'But sir, if you made this incredible land, can't you make Snoodles obey your command? The big one smiled warmly then said to the small, a gift that's demanded is no gift at all.' We tendered a more Scriptural response then I shared the Jesus Christ / Life Raft analogy. I shared My Personal Testimony then approached Jermaine, now sobered. 'Jermaine, what would prevent you from surrendering your life to Jesus Christ right now?' He responded 'I am still unsure.' Beloved, we plant and water seeds but God nurtures them. 'A gift that's demanded is no gift at all.' Please pray. In Christ, Jason.
Prov 15:9-10 The Lord detests the way of the wicked, but he loves those who pursue righteousness. Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path; the one who hates correction will die.
Jn 3:16-18 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
Our children are dying. I need your help to share Christ with the lost.
Dt 24:16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.
