Dear Messengers:
Last Wednesday at MOA was awesome! Immersed in prayer during my morning swim, the Falling Plates drowning scene flooded my mind. God's Presence was palpable. That evening during worship we declared 'When I felt no worth; You paid it all for me'. [Reckless Love by Cory Asbury] BOOM! The Holy Spirit revealed our Divine Encounter who 'felt no worth'. Upon arrival at MOA, I commission the Messengers in prayer to 'go and make disciples of all nations'. There stood Johnathan – whose handsome face I had received. Johnathan desperately wanted to share Jesus Christ but felt unworthy 'because I am ugly'. Childhood wounds cut deep. We spoke Truth and Love and Life unto those wounds. I commissioned our brother in that ramp then he joined our ranks. Praise Christ Jesus. 'When I felt no worth; You paid it all for me'.
Mt 28:16-20 The Great Commission. Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'
Rom 10:14-15 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'
2 Cor 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Last Friday at the Minneapolis Jail was awesome! We observed Good Friday and thus immersed ourselves within The Crucifixion of Jesus. Jesus washed Judas' feet despite imminent betrayal. Jesus 'loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood' [Rev 1:5] despite that our personal sin nailed 'the author of life' [Acts 3:15] to the cross. We read 'Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.' Our conversation veered. 'Unforgiveness is like taking poison but expecting someone else to die.' [Various] It is a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit living within us and through us. I shared the Water Pitcher / Stone analogy then we modeled confession and repentance. We prayed with each man to surrender their unforgiveness at the cross. BOOM! The Holy Spirit convicted our blackened hearts. In Christ, Jason.
Lk 23:32-34 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed. When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals – one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.' And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
Mt 6:9-15 This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.' For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Our children are dying. I need your help to share Christ with the lost.
Dt 24:16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.
