Dear Messengers:
Last Wednesday at MOA was awesome! [04/19/17] I encountered Zelda, an intermittently homeless Native American woman. Zelda scowled at me and blurted out: 'Are you a cop?' I laughed and replied: 'No, I am a Chaplain. I don't put people in jail. I help people escape from their bondage to sin through Jesus Christ.' Zelda froze, then started to cry. She vomited out painful memories fraught with dire generational dysfunction, alcohol addiction and abandonment. Tears streamed down her face. BOOM! Zelda gasped. She suddenly remembered: 'Jesus loves me! This I know, For the Bible tells me so; Little ones to Him belong, They are weak but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.'
[07/17/19] I encountered Ozilda, 'an intermittently homeless Native American woman.' Ravages from alcohol and methamphetamine addiction coupled with improper spelling obscured her identity. Until we prayed for her daughter Marlinee. 'Scales fell.' Her cellphone stolen, I just contacted Ozilda via Facebook to read her post 'We don't meet people by accident. They were meant to cross our path for a reason.' Beloved, Jesus Christ is our reason. Please pray.
Ps 23 [NKJV] The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
Last Friday at the Minneapolis Jail was awesome! Stan was absent to celebrate 40th 'ruby' anniversary nuptials. Barbie received ruby slippers; Stan's Bugatti Divo is ruby encrusted. Therefore we dissected The Rich Young Man with utter abandon. 'Jesus answered, 'If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.' When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.' [Mt 19:21-22] We then read 'This reveals a second lie that endangers our recovery – I can withhold some areas of my life from the control of Jesus. Recovery isn't a program we fit neatly into some available niche in our old life. Recovery is all about living an entirely new life. Recovery doesn't allow us – because Jesus doesn't allow us – to stop short of genuine life change. Let's not fool ourselves; partial or delayed obedience is simply disobedience.' [Excerpt from Celebrate Recovery Bible] I reiterated the full Gospel Message in elementary terms to ensure comprehension but Navonte remained confused due to probable schizophrenia. I prayed to be led by the Holy Spirit then dismissed the men – except Navonte. I stared deep into my brother's eyes – the windows to our soul – then slowly whispered 'We try to hide from God when we're bad. But Jesus loves you even when you sin.' I shared the Jesus Christ / life raft analogy then whispered 'Jesus stands before you. Grab hold to Jesus' hand.' BOOM! The Holy Spirit poured out revelation upon us. Instantly lucid, Navonte gasped then dropped to the ground in surrender to be cloaked in Jesus' righteousness. Stop, drop and roll. In Christ, Jason.
Acts 9:18-19 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized, and after taking some food, he regained his strength.
Rom 3:22-25 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood – to be received by faith.
Our children are dying. I need your help to share Christ with the lost.
Dt 24:16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.
